Development of the Engineers’ Syndicate Building of Isfahan

Commissioned as a targeted improvement and expansion package for the Isfahan Engineering Syndicate Complex, this project was developed in two coordinated streams. The design of the original main building was not included in our scope; instead, the work focused on a multi-storey parking development with complementary service programs, alongside a facade revision proposal for the existing building, collectively aimed at strengthening operational performance and upgrading the complex’s public-facing identity.
Conceived as a supporting urban infrastructure for the complex’s future growth, the parking structure is organized across seven levels, Basements B1 to B3, Ground Floor, and Levels 1 and 2, to address parking provision while clarifying patterns of arrival and movement. The circulation strategy prioritizes legibility and safety: inter-level vehicular movement is resolved through standard ramps with controlled gradients and adequate turning radii, ensuring smooth maneuvering and reducing conflict points. In parallel, a continuous pedestrian access system, anchored by elevators and stair cores, provides convenient, barrier-aware connectivity across all floors.
Beyond car storage, the development integrates a calibrated layer of complementary program. Portions of the Ground and First floors are allocated to service uses, including a café, technical office, secretariat, and a bank branch, positioned to support daily user needs and to extend the parking facility into an active operational component of the complex rather than a purely residual structure
Environmental performance and day-to-day operability were treated as primary design drivers. Given persistent vehicular activity, a comprehensive mechanical ventilation strategy was incorporated to manage pollutants and maintain safe indoor air quality throughout the facility. Standardized, energy-efficient lighting was designed for parking bays, ramps, and circulation routes to reinforce visibility, improve wayfinding, and elevate perceived security, particularly across transitional zones.
Ancillary amenities, including prayer and sanitary facilities, were integrated at appropriate locations to enhance user comfort and completeness of service. Overall, the project frames parking and facade revision as a single, coherent intervention: an expansion-oriented infrastructure paired with a calibrated architectural update, intended to improve both the complex’s functional resilience and the clarity of its civic presence.
